Barristers has undergone a complete makeover and the bar, cafe and deck area have been tastefully refurbished in rich wood and Victorian tiles, giving a light and bright area in winter and delight in summer. Sipping a delicious glass of wine or quaffing bespoke  draft beer freshly poured (just for you), while watching the passing parade of Newlands Village, is a great way to while away the afternoon. Barristers new light menu compliments the view and includes the old favourite pub lunches (which are always on special - twelve pub lunches to choose from,  for only R40 each, available  from 12:00 noon until 18:00; seven days a week; throughout the restaurant) and our delicious homemade burgers, while offering light wraps and salads for the not so hungry.

The Grill Room and the very private, Tudor Room, offer an array of mouth-watering grills including the steak dishes for which Barristers is famous. We’ve stuck to our ever popular Roquefort Salad, traditional monkey gland and cognac sauces, mouth watering calamari and pan fried prawns, but we have added some exciting vegetarian dishes, the trilogy of Rosemary Fillets and Carmen’s delicious new desserts. With two highly qualified and motivated chefs, we aim to bring you new and exciting dishes on a regular basis and every week we have new items on the specials board, so do ask your Waitress for details.

We believe that Barristers still offers the best value for money al la carte dining in Cape Town.

We do cater for special functions, from business breakfasts, seminars and conferences to great family celebrations and we can provide food platters, set menu’s or buffet breakfasts to suit the occasion.
